In this TÜBİTAK 1001 research project that was initiated by the Computational Electromechanical Systems (CEMSys) Research Group in 2021, the main aim is to obtain a model predictive control of the permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance motor (PMaSynRM) designed for the household aplications in a more robust way. In this project, Prof. Dr. Lale T. Ergene acts as the project coordinator alongside the researchers Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Yılmaz and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Fuat Ergenç and three graduate students. The CEMSys research group has twelve members and conducts different scientific research projects related to designing and controlling of energy efficient electric motors (from fractional to mid-size power) including induction and permanent magnet motors (BLDC, PMSM, SynRM, PMaSynRM) for appliances/industrial applications and controlling the wind energy conversion systems (WECS) at Electrical Engineering of ITU. This research group acted as a pioneer by publishing the first graduate thesis on synchronous reluctance motors (SynRM) and collaborated with the industry for projects to manufacture these motors in Turkey.
